501(c)(3) non-profit vet care — the structural innovation
RexVet is the United States' only federally registered 501(c)(3) non-profit veterinary telehealth. Why does the non-profit model matter for pet care access? What does it enable structurally that for-profit telehealth doesn't?
Telehealth continuity during hurricane/storm disruptions
Pet parents in Florida and Virginia lose physical access to their in-person vet during evacuations. How telehealth maintains continuity, enables prescription routing to whichever pharmacy is operational, and handles the post-storm emergency surge.
The price problem in pet care
Average in-person vet visits cost $150-$400 in major US metros. RexVet holds visits at $64.99 via a non-profit structure. The deeper story: why has pet care inflation outpaced consumer inflation, and what is the realistic affordable-care path forward?
Senior pet care + telehealth
Senior pets (7+) face the highest risk of access disruption due to mobility limitations, multiple medications, and ER cost sensitivity. How telehealth specifically helps the senior-pet demographic.
