Important: This page is an educational reference. Never start, stop, or change your pet's medication without veterinary guidance. Specific dosing depends on your pet's weight, condition, and other medications. To get a personalized prescription or refill, talk to a licensed RexVet veterinarian.

What Simparica is used for in dogs

  • Monthly flea prevention
  • Tick prevention (including the ticks that carry Lyme disease)
  • Heartworm prevention (Simparica TRIO formulation)
  • Roundworm and hookworm control (Simparica TRIO)

How it works

Sarolaner blocks parasite nerve receptors (GABA-gated chloride channels), paralyzing and killing fleas and ticks within hours of biting. It does not repel — pests must bite to be killed.
