Frequently asked questions

How fast does Mirataz work?

Most cats show interest in food within 1-2 hours of the first dose. Effect lasts 24 hours.

Why is Mirataz transdermal instead of oral?

Cats hate pills. The transdermal formulation absorbs through the inner ear skin — no pilling required, easier for owners, less stressful for cats.

Can RexVet prescribe Mirataz?

Yes — for cats with documented weight loss or appetite issues, a RexVet video visit can result in Mirataz through RexVetRx.

Is Mirataz safe long-term?

Yes, when used as directed. Many CKD cats stay on Mirataz long-term to maintain appetite.

Do I need to wear gloves applying Mirataz?

Yes — mirtazapine can absorb through human skin too. Always wear gloves and wash hands.
